Ways to choose a Law school in India

Law is an ever-green profession as it is one of the few disciplines where one does not need to retire when one grows old. Apart from NLSIU, NALSAR University of Law Hyderabad, National Law Institute University (NLIU) Bhopal, The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), National Law University (NLU) Jodhpur, Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) Raipur and Gujarat National Law University, Ahmedabad. 

How to get Admission:

Admission to under-graduate course B.A., L.L.B (Hons) Degree programme in seven premium Law Universities is purely based on merit which is assessed through a Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).

Eligibility:

A candidate seeking admission in the above law universities degree course shall have:

  1. passed Senior secondary School Examination (10+2) or an examination equivalent thereto securing aggregate, not less than 50% of the total marks and
  2. not completed 20 years of age as on 1st July of the year of his admission.    

 

In the case of student belonging to SC/ST category the age limit shall be 22 years at the time of admission.

The CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) is applicable to all seven prestigious Law schools of India located in Bangalore Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bhopal, Jodhpur, Raipur and Gandhinagar, apart from these seven institutions three other Law colleges in Patna, Lucknow and Patiala also uses the CLAT score for admission.
